Iphone- Site Tech issue
Share on:

Not sure whether this is the best place to post.
If not maybe you can point me to the right place.

I have set up a new site last week.
Wordpress self hosted looks fine from my pc and laptop.
When I try to open the site from my iphone I get the following error message

"safari cannot open the page because too many redirects occurred"

Obviously I don't want my site to be invisible to mobiles.
I've got lots of other sites with same setup (or so I thought)without this issue

Anyone know what the problem is here please?

many thanks
Paul

sounds like you have a mobile redirect script pointing at itself... if you would like to share the link i would gladly take a look at it for you

Sorry, I am too busy helping people to think of a cool signature!

Make sure you don't have any plugins that redirect your mobile users to a page that sends them right back to the page they just came from.

It could also be the theme you are using.

Thanks Njenyus
I tried deactivating my plugins- no luck.
I'm using the same theme on other sites with no problems.

I've just sent a support ticket to my hosting provider so maybe they'll have the answer.

Thanks for your help.
Kind regards,
Paul

Update

I just got back a message from my hosting support-

"Your website is working fine at our end.

Please try clearing your browser cache or try using other browsers".

Problem now sorted. Thanks to Kiosk support.

I guess this is a bit like checking the power is plugged into your PC

I've got to add I had no idea how to clear browser cache but
found a very clear explanation at this link if its of use to anyone with same issues.
No affiliation-

Clear the Browser Cache - IPHONE 4S 16GB

thanks and all the best,
Paul

That was going to be the next thing I suggested. If you ever have problems like that after updating then always try clearing the cache and history.
