How to make basic yet user-friendly mobile site?

I have a really basic need for a mobile site.

It will essentially print lists of things and require navigation.
There will probably be less than 20 total pages.

I'm making a Wordpress site for it and want to convert it over
to mobile, but have it display in an easy to read fashion,
not the "desktop" look, which requires scrolling and
magnifying to read.

There are plugins and products available, I know, and I'm
interested to find out what people have actually used to make
this as painless as possible, while getting the desired results.

Hey Jerry, I can help direct you. As a mobile web and business mobile app designer myself I can wholeheartedly vouch for the software produced by Rapid Crush from jason flandlein. It works off and is essentially a WP theme, you view your progress in a Smartphone layout as you go. Totally customizable, includes squeeze pages, landing pages, Icons for your buttons/tabs etc.. I have not used EzMobileSiteGenerator, but have watched a couple demo videos and it looks good, and is cheaper. If you want it built for you, give me a holler, or for more specifics on building yourself just ask.
