I have been trying to avoid spamming, while doing email marketing. I received a reply to 1 of my emails from the owner (I believe) of the business that "We don't like spam...your account has been reported". I do realize it was in fact SPAM, because I left off a physical address, as well as an opt-out option. Again, I realize what I didn't do and from this day forward, I will meet the requirements of CAN SPAM...But my question is should I be worried about this 1 email--the fact that my account has been reported? What should I do? |

You should be ok. If people's email addresses were blacklisted the moment one person marked them as spam then most people wouldn't be able to send email anymore. The reason being there are always going to be people who accidentally mark things as spam so they aren't going to blacklist you after just 1 or 2 spam complaints. It also has to do with how many emails you have been sending. If you send 2 emails and both are marked as spam then obviously that's a lot worse than getting 2 spam complaints when you have sent a total of 200 emails. Chances are this person didn't even report you anyway, they are just trying to scare you from sending them anything again. It's a good lesson learnt though and better you learn it now than further down the track. Always make sure your emails have the physical address and opt out message. |

Hey ncp Check "Can Spam" act and follow them in your mails. If you follow those rules them most of the servers will allow your mail to be in the inbox of your leads. |
