So, I was in one of my clients' restaurants today and I ran into the "point of sale" guy for the restaurant. He mentioned to me that the point of sale should have the ability to send sms messages directly from their software to customers within a couple months. If that's the case, it could make it tough to stay viable in SMS for the long term? Thoughts?

There are email marketing companies out there that handle everything for you but people can still use Outlook to email blast..

There would still need to be a management system, and a large extension at that to the base functionality. While it is entirely possible, I would by no means expect to see this as a common item anytime soon. That would be like the blue-ray player coming out while people are still using cassettes - these things take time. |
