Hi anyone - I've looked everywhere online for a solution. How do you save the icon size you want out of the icon builder template that has loads of icons on it and you just can't export or save the one you want! Any ideas? Love Sarah |

Sarah you should describe the things in details -- I don't know about icon builder, sorry. but if you want to save things instead of redo the same things all the time,.. then, photoshop actions will come in handy. hope it helps -arief |

Sorry arief, it's OK, it seems that most PSD icon templates do not come with any instructions on how to expot or save the icon you want out of the template once you've edited the layers.

Sarah, I'm not sure exactly what you are talking about but if you are just trying to export an image from photoshop, just go to 'File > Save As' and choose the image format you want. |

Hi Sarah, In the icon template right click on the icon and you should be able to select the layer. Most icon templates come with many layers and each icon is on its own layer. Once you select the icon you can copy it to a new psd size it and save for web. Hope this helps |

So if anyone else has the same problem here is the solution using Kevin's method and a bit of info I dug up - but togetther they work AT LAST 1/ Right click on the icon file you want - in the layer palette it will highlight your icon size layers folder. Click so this folder shows all its layers underneath. 2/ Go and create a new psd file in the size you want the icon 3/ Go back to the icon template folder again and link up all the layers of the icon folder you want. You do this by ctrl click or shift (for mac) to select all the layers in that file then clicking on the "chain link" icon at the bottom of the layers palette. THis action will link all these layers together. 4/ you can now copy and paste all these layers at once onto your new blank PSD and they will remain in their proper positions and you will have your icon! 5/ click on file and save to web & devices - voila! Hope that helps others too - took me all week to do it lol! | |
