I like this theme on Theme Forest: Site Templates - Iternax (vCard) | ThemeForest I have no idea as to how to use a theme like this, but if you scroll down you can click to view a mobile version, which I think looks quite nice. I've researched vCards and am not sure that they are the same as what this theme is being used for. It looks to me like the theme is being used for a website, not so much for an actual downloadable vcard. Can someone point me in the right direction here? As in, would this theme be suitable for a mobile site, and/or could it also be used as a stand-alone website, or both? What would the drawbacks to this theme be on a mobile device, if any? |

I'm hoping someone will come along and point in the right direction regarding this template and its suitability for a mobile website. I'm not trying to promote the template; but I do like it and one of my customers is interested in having it for both their mobile and static webpage. They don't need a full-blown website, just a small business card site that shows up nicely on a computer and on a mobile phone - which this template seems to do. I'm not certain how to evaluate the suitability of this template for a strictly desktop site, plus there appear to be two versions of the template - one for computers and one for mobile devices. Plus, I'm not sure what a vCard is and how it differs from a regular site. @WillR - I did buy your mobile site design package and haven't used it yet - but I'm getting there. I'm wondering if this mobile template would work with your program? |

This is just a vcard template and not something I would really recommend for a proper website. There's a lot more that can be achieved by having a full blown website. I think if you are going to the trouble of creating a website nowadays, you may as well go the whole hog. If I am a customer I am generally looking for more information about your business than just your contact details. If I can't find it on your website then I will generally go elsewhere.

I see that I didn't make myself clear. I'm not looking to make a full blown static or mobile website for my customer. He already has both of those. What the customer is looking for is a business card site to advertise, and/or link to his primary website and mobile site. As in, one more venue to promote his websites. I'm not sure exactly what a vCard is, and how it compares to a site I could create for this customer, using this template so that he could advertise his other sites. I was wondering how this template is different that a basic vCard - to me, it looks a lot nicer. And as I look into it a bit more, I got to thinking that this type of template site might look good as an entry in a local directory site, especially geared to specific business niches in that it would provide a professional looking link to the customer's full website. What I don't understand, is this: Is the template I linked to above suitable for a standalone site, a vCard, or simply for linking to all or any of the aforementioned types of sites, or all of the above?

You can use the template you linked to for anything you want. It would work as a standalone site (although as already mentioned, not suggested), and it would work as just an entry page or a page on any other website you already have.

Thanks Will. Your reply has prompted another question...
I presume it is an html document? Or perhaps an image file, as in a QR code? Sorry for being such a dumbo here, but I'm out of my depth on this one and am seeking enlightenment. (Better be careful with my wording or my message will get zapped for being 'religious.')
