Mobile affiliate marketing?

What have your experiences been with mobile affiliate marketing? Have you been able to earn a significant amount of money doing this? As far as affiliate marketing goes, this seems like it would appeal to me most. Thanks!

I haven't really jumped in the mobile affiliate marketing arena just yet. I'm sticking to straight affiliate marketing for now. Have you tested the water yet?

I've gotten my toes wet, but I've not really had any real success with it.

Mobile affiliate marketing really appeals to me for some reason. It surprises me. I will have to do some more R&D.

What is mobile affiliate marketing? Is it the same thing as portable affiliate marketing?.... meaning that your marketing is portable? Or.... does it have to do with mobile telephone affiliate marketing?

2-3 years back i used to work for a company which was greatly involved in mobile phone marketing it relied on unique content, reviews and basic off page and on page to get ranked and make its sale

Affiliate marketing is good if you are having sufficient knowledge of advertisement. I have been doing it for my mobile website clients, the success is not that great for me but gives nice revenue out of it in less time.

I've been involve in normal affiliate marketing for about half a year now, my mentor group are working on ways to explore mobile affiliate marketing and starting to get their toes wet. I'm very excited to see what it can bring. The only question I have is, every year we hear "this is the year of mobile", when exactly that going to become true? In analytics I see traffic to mobile sites increasing at a tremendous rate but not conversion rates at this time.

Has anyone got tips on improving conversion rates through mobile?

It's happening now. Within the next 2 years (maximum) the majority of switched on consumers will have a smart phone. Why? Because most people who are on a plan get a new (free) phone as part of renewing their contract. As contracts expire they are issued with a new (smart) phone as an enticement to renew. 2 years is probably stretching it actually. Within the next 12 months is more likely. Most people joining plans now will be issued with a new smart phone. I talk to people every day about this (I build mobile websites) and more and more I hear that users do actually use their phones while out and about and also while sitting on the couch (couch surfing).

Not sure what you mean about conversions though. It's hard to count a customer who looked up a business' address on their smart phone and went to the shop ands bought something as a "conversion" in the normal sense because most mobile websites don't actually sell anything with a link like a normal website might.

By conversions, I'm implying ecommerce sites. The company I work for has several and the conversions a lot lower. Not sure why, perhaps its a trust thing, checkout is too long or something else. Not entirely sure, would love to learn more about it though.

As someone else mentioned, conversions - as in buying on their mobiles when out and about - may be some time off for all sorts of reasons - but the prospect of them buying when they get home I think is increasing all the time.
