In this thread I would like to find out what other app developers/app business owners/app marketers are doing along the lines of promotions and marketing for the Christmas rush.

What have you tried? What do you believe works the best? I would like for APP DEVELOPERS/APP BUSINESS OWNERS/APP MARKETERS only please who have experience as well in this topic. Please don't respond if you've never built an app or marketed an app before. The goal here is to get the juices flowing so that we can create a master list of techniques and methods we can all use to increase our app sales volume and revenues.

What I do for example to help boost sales and even get some positive reviews is the following:
1. Run Contests
2. Write Press Releases
3. Print out actual flyers and go to local meeting groups (Which I'm starting again next week) like BNI, Chamber of Commerce, Boards of Trade, etc.
4. Place our app on various prominent websites (Paid Advertising)
5. Create a new update for the apps
6. Try and do a few free promotions during Black Friday to help increase app ranks going into Christmas.

Those are just some of my methods. I'd like to hear yours and hopefully have a massive listing here that all other app developers can use and something I can write about in my upcoming blogs, programs and books as well. I hope by me sharing a few of my secrets I have used successfully, others in our industry would also be so kind as to do the same...
