SMS MARKETING Question
Share on:
fb share twitter share gplus share more share

Hi Warriors

i have been reading so much into SMS MARKETING and i can see this being the future on marketing for local businesses.

Im new to this so im really still learning but i would like to give this a test drive. Im in the UK (Northern Ireland) I have not came across this very often to be honest i have only seen DOMINO's using this.

Could someone recommend the best provider in the UK. I have read alot of threads saying LimeCellular but read this morning they are not even based in the States they have a virtual office their just. What are you thought of the different companies available in the UK.

I do not have a massive budget so i dont want to have to pump in loads of cash to start with. Like i said i only want to test drive the sms marketing and i think i will try it with maybe my inlaws garden centre but it might not be the best type of business to test drive this in.

I would also like to ask your opinions on the best way to run an sms campaign for local businesses. I was thinking each business having their own campaign running with there own offers OR for each area im offering this in have a list of people in that area then offer businesses to send SMS Offers to 1 list. So say i started a list for example LISBURN VIP the i approach local businesses in this area and offer them to promote to LISBURN VIP list and charge them per month 7 companies in the area all messaging to the list once a week on their designated day. IM JUST SPECULATING HERE LOOKING ADVICE.

What would your thought be on this.

Thank

Finally finished going over this WSO by MoBuzz and its packed with content and material and building your own list is a main topic. For $9 this may be your best option in getting started and going for a TEST Drive you will save a lot of time and its well worth it.

Good Luck Again

Hi Rich (and anyone else that might be able to advise)

I love the idea of sms marketing- better open rates than email, how often people check their phones per day etc, etc, I get it completely.
However I live in Asia (Malaysia to be precise) and the costs of sending are crazy, there's nothing like Twilo or anything similar here, I've search and the best rates for Bulk sending are so close to regular sms rates that there's no mileage on making that way except to sell the convenience factor.
Does anyone know of a gateway that serves sms's cost effectively in my area.
Thanks for listening....

You can either build a list for one business client, or build your own list and "rent" it to businesses. Stay in the same niche though. You wouldn't send health club SMS message offers to a restaurant list. Twilio is in the U.K. now. Very reliable and about as cheap as you can get, and you only pay for what you use.

We have been doing SMS marketing successfully for several months now. The key really isn't in building your own list but assisting the client in building theirs.
Using this approach we have developed numerous campaigns that have resulted in some rather large increases in business for our clients.
Our approach is a little different than many, but if you think of working with the client as a partner rather than just a supplier, you'll get the idea.
Building your own list is difficult, time-consuming and in the end, many drop out after getting offers they don't care about.
Focus your efforts on a client, help them build their list and it becomes a win-win.
