Hi Guys, I have a client who wants to do a promotion for new year eve's event and I feel like the time frame was really short already! I was thinking about doing a countdown contest using facebook, twitter, and mobile website to drive traffic to an SMS list and then use the SMS software to run the entire contest itself. The contest would include possibly winning a free table or drinks or a variety of prizes, while asking the user to either comment on facebook one day, or tweet back one day what their new year's resolution might be, what they got for christmas! Do you think this would be a good way to funnel people into that venue for the night? Would love to hear people's thoughts! btw, anyone know if you sign up for SMS texting can you start building your list right away, or is their some setup time? Anyone else ever had to do promotion/marketing for a new year's eve event? Thanks, Andy |

Hey Andy, Yes I know the time frame is tight but you can defiantly still run a promotion for New Years. Taking advantage of social media along with SMS list building is a great way to go. Yes most SMS platforms when a user opts in to the list it is immediate. No down time! You can start sending text promotions or running a contest as soon as you feel that you have enough subscribers. This time of year is a great time to build lists because a lot of businesses have increased traffic through the seasonal and holiday periods. If you can come up with a creative promotion then it's definitely a great way to build a big list in a short period of time. Setting up an sms campaign can be done very quickly. The only 'setup time' is your own learning curve. You could start collecting leads tomorrow if you know how things work. It's just a matter of putting things in place. |
