Just wondering if anyone here has been using Lime Cellular for their SMS and have either switched or are using Wrecking Ball SMS. If so, could you please leave a review or comparison of the two systems? Thanks, Wisln |

Personally I have not heard of wrecking ball sms but here is what i can tell you. Which one sounds like a real company while the other sounds like it was named by a 15 year old? Sometimes you have to step back and think about that. If they can't make the name sound professional how can I expect them to be there for me 5 or 6 years from now? I mean why would I offer a service unless I knew the company behind my service offering was solid? So if Wrecking Ball is good the first thing they need to do is change the name. Because I don't think I am the only one who will be put off by it and assume they are not a "real" company. |

I'm with ya Aaron, the WBSMS name does come across as a bit much, but coming from warrior Dave Iago, he's one of the sharpest sms minds I've come across and it's a decent bit of software. Main differences between WBSMS and Lime as I see it is that WB works mainly with Twilio for longcodes, although I believe they're releasing an upgrade to use a custom short code as well. I tried out WBSMS for the past two months and while I do like the features they offer, you are paying a monthly fee to use the system plus whatever Twilio expenses you incur. I recently got access to a Lime account through a WSO offered here and with features about the same, costs per msg about the same and use of a shortcode (that's an extra cost option with WBSMS) I will probably be sticking with Lime going forward. Take some time to decide what features in an SMS provider are important to you, then choose a few providers you like and test them out if you can. Part of me liked the WBSMS interface better and thought it a little easier to use than Limes at first, but once you've learned your way around it's pretty easy to use. Also, just an FYI, but I've been watching videos and talking to the folks at TATANGO that offer a nice sms service and plans where you pay for the number of subscribers on your list and can send unlimited msgs to them (much like Aweber for example). Depending on your client and how often they plan to send messages, a plan based on the number of subscribers .vs number of messages sent may be more desirable. HTH, Steve |

Wrecking Ball is clearly more of a DIY WSO type solution where Lime is a professional enterprise level solution. | |

I know the owner of Lime personally. I had a ton of problems getting paid for white labels I sold for him. TON of issues all the way around. IM me for details if you are thinking about using Lime. Their platform is great its the management and billing that are gonna give you headaches and empty bank accounts. |

I sold so many white label packages for Yuval that I didnt get paid on. Sold it all online - I had a forum for marketers. I got paid on about 10-15 clients but from what Ive learned over the last 18months I probably should have been paid on approximately 50 or more. Now I dont do anything but sell my own services. Retooled my business to deal with local owners. Most so called "gurus" dont understand that all digital/mobile/online marketing is different for a local business than for an online one. They teach them what works online but local businesses are completely different. We base our services in building a Social CRM first and then adding services based on industry. In my honest opinion SMS is still about a year away from success for most local businesses. Not until 50-60& have a mobile website so SMS is on the backburner for us anyway. Last year smartphone users BOOMED in the US from 25% to 80% penetration so its gonna take a little time for users to get completely comfortable with the tech. Once that happens SMS will be viable for so many more industries than it is now. |
