Currently I use magic jack and a pay per use cell phone. Since I'm going to be selling mobile sites, I'm going to bite the bullet and get a mobile plan w/internet access. Since it will be rarely used and mainly for selling/demo purposes, I'm looking for a budget plan. Any recommendations? Thanks. |

I love my iphone 4 with ATT, but if you truly are "in the sticks" as your name suggests, you may want to start by first finding which plans cover your area first and then figure out what you want to pay upfront for a phone and monthly for service.

Thanks Steve. I've got an AT&T phone already but they want $60/mo for their minimum plan which is more than I'm willing to pay. I don't have an issue with coverage so pretty much any service should work.

check out virgin mobile they have reasonable unlimited data plans... are you thinking about using your smartphone at your clients or is purely for testing purposes only - if thats the case you dont even need a plan, buy the phone and use wifi... theres also keynote deviceanywhere that will give you access to mobile devices online if thats all your want to use it for -http://www.keynotedeviceanywhere.com/da-free-product-overview.html - i used to use their other service but this is much better for quick access to smartphones. Hope that helps, Jay |

My brother and niece have a plan with republic wireless - The Mobile Network that Runs on Freedom that they both like. I believe it's $20 a month for unlimited plus the cost of the phone (a motorola using android), and it's a hybrid service that uses wifi when available for calls and switches to cellular when there's no wifi coverage. Seems to work well for them in metro Baltimore, but I'm not sure if they're everywhere yet. Cheers, Steve |

AT&T offers a pay as you go plan for $10/mo. which includes calling, text and internet. This is perfect since as I said it will be rarely used...mainly when I'm selling mobile sites.
