Have any of you had success selling products over mobile using mobile PPC? I suppose there are apps, MP3's and Kindle books which can be sold over mobile. What about your own products from a website? Have you had any experience with that? What has your experience been like? |

You want to be able to build a mobile squeeze page to help conversions of your offer. If you are pushing mobile traffic to a squeeze page that isn't optimized you are wasting your time. Mobile video with mobile optimized forms to make the experience pleasant for the user will help your conversions. |

Mobile marketing applications are amazing platforms for selling products. People are always surfing their phones where they are bored in public, so why not give them an app where they can be bored and buy products?

You can sell anything on mobile, don't limit it to apps, MP3s and kindle books. More people are starting to "live" on their mobile devices => more people are starting to buy stuff on mobile devices.
Just make sure that your product pages and your payment buttons work fine on mobile devices (as well as on desktop screens) and you are good. | |

I work with a website right now that does ECOMMERCE sales direct on mobile and they don't even have a mobile optimized website. Don't get me wrong.. conversions are definetely not that good.. but the future is changing my friend. Zappos I know is way mobile optimized, I'm sure eBay and Amazon are by now. In like a year or two.. more and more people will buy with mobile. Mobile is OVERTAKING desktop computers. You have to be stupid to not jump on it. At least get your shit mobile optimized to start. I don't know how much success you'd have selling a physical product, but you could always make a list using mobile traffic networks and start there. Unless you have some payment processors and get some setup with like.. processing payments through networks and all that if that makes sense. |

Be aware that when you sell digital items via an iOS app onthe apple app store, they have to be done as using the in app purchase model, for which I think Apple take a percentage. This i snot true for physcial items though, so you can link to a websit from which people can order

I think you can sell information products via mobile, the difficult part is allowing people to use the product. I.E. many of the video courses we sell here in the Warrior Forum don't necessarily translate to mobile to well. But, if they want to order a course that gets delivered physically, way different story. That being said, I do have several ecommerce clients that sell physical goods (and you can sell downloadable product through them as well). The shopping carts I use are automatically mobile optimized, meaning the shopping cart platforms detect mobile and offer up a mobile site. You can't beat it for physical sites and why I always suggest a dedicated ecommerce shopping cart if you are selling more then 3 products. I really do think there is a difference between corporate/blog/informational sites versus commerce and while I love Wordpress, I would never use it for selling more then 3 products. |

Our clients have had great success in selling products with the mobile apps we developed for them. We give our clients the ability to create their own mobile store or use authorize.net. Clients see great success with this. Did you also know that "79% of smartphone users use their phones to help with shopping and 74% make a purchase as a result" (Google/Ipsos 2010) Read more in our blog post about mobile shopping & M Commerce.
