Hi Scamsel,

We have a call tracking service that supports click-to-call functionality. Dynamic numbers are created for each unique visitor - you just paste the code on your site and it's taken care of.

Check out Call Tracking Software | SEO Tracking | PPC Tracking | Call Analytics | Mediahawk to find out more, and give us a shout if there's any way we can help you .

Cheers!

What are you hoping to find out by tracking the calls from a mobile website?

well i was just wanting to know how many calls the website was generating to the business, just as kind of a measurement.

You could just use a Twilio number, or any other virtual number to track calls from the mobile site.

Hi Scamsel...
Setting up Click to call conversion tracking code is little bit techical, but you need to insert the code only once. You can take help of web developer for this, kindly read the helpful article "Setting up conversion tracking" to know how you can set phone call tracking.

For click to call bidding you need to bid minimum of 1$ for per click and you can bid more as per your competition, kindly read Understanding CPP bidding (bid-per-call) to know about how cost per phone call works.

thanks everyone for your input, yeah the conversion tracking man, couldn't find a good video demo on it, was fairly technical, just thought there would be a simpler way (kinda surprised really that there isn't). i'll try to figure it out from that article then i guess.

google voice numbers would be great, because they log and you can forward to any number, but there is a stupid intro message at the beginning that gets played for the person on the other end, so, bummer!

twilio looks like it would work, but then gotta pay per min, so don't really want to do that. and yeh, i know about doing the bids for call tracking, but don't want to pay a buck a call.

just thought it would be nice to be able to show the customer how many calls their mobile websites are generating. not that big a deal...

STOP....PLEASE STOP. So far almost everything in the thread has been way off.
-I've been using google voice for years and I love it. You can turn off the default setting at the beginning which is the inro message. There are many other customization to your liking.

Stop looking at vendors...I can give you a giant list and unless this marketing budget is a decent size then its not worth going through all this trouble. managing Adwords, Analytics, Call Tracking, Landing pages etc. I really think you need to step back and look at the big picture. How much is a lead worth to you? Why is it worth that much? What kind of lead makes you the most money? email lead? phone call lead? a sign up?

Someone complained that phone call leads are much more expensive. Well, they also convert way better too!
i.e.
Email leads are cheap - low conversion rate
Phone call leads are expensive - high conversion rate

So you need to do your homework and figure out if you by $100 of phone or email leads then how many are actually converting into customers. And each customer how much is that worth to you?

It can be black/white...just depends.
Some products do better with email...aka Groupon. However, some products like health insurance require a phone conversation to build trust.

Here, I'm going to save you a lot of money. I found this on youtube...this guy spells it out pretty well.
After my ranting. The good news is you can do all this in Adwords!

Call metrics ? Ad Innovations ? Google Ads
Bid-per-call ? Ad Innovations ? Google Ads

They have a new thing call bid per call.

If you dont know what you're doing....I promise you will just waste a bunch of money like I did. Get someone to help you with this our outsource it.

Good luck...I feel your pain.

it seems my droid phone browser enables most phone numbers as click to call automatically.
