way to search for broken mobile websites?
Share on:

I was just going through my LinkedIn contacts and came across a former colleague of mine that now works for a small business in the area. I checked their website out on my phone. It routes to a mobile site (m.domain.com) but does not display the site, but instead says "We are sorry, there is no such site."

A couple questions:

1-What is the most likely cause of this? I'm guessing they tried to do the mobile site and the redirect themselves and messed something up along the way.

2-My main question, is there a certain way to search in Google to find mobile websites that display this error?

I reached out to the business owner of this company, and was wondering if there's an easy way to find more sites with the same issue. Already sold on mobile but having issues. Should be a lay-up.

Thanks.

Could be a lay up, but maybe the mobile web designer went out of business and now the subdomain is re-directing you to a blank page simply because it was a fly by the night operation.

I would make sure you have some solid examples of work you have done.

1. There are many reasons why that error could be showing.

They are in the process of getting a mobile website built.

They are in the process of having their mobile site updated.

They haven't paid their fees and thus they lost access to their mobile site.

Their server is having issues.

They installed the mobile site in the wrong place.

They did not install the mobile site currently.

and so on.

2. No, it's really impossible to search Google for this type of thing.
