Ok... I am getting excited about selling mobile sites, especially to customers on my lead list who already have a website, and at least appreciate the value of investing in a website to get more customers. But I'm new at this. So, if the customer has a usable website already, and paid a designer to build and host it, then... How do we work with the original designer to get the mobile redirect script installed, without that designer trying to get the business from us?... Or do we ask the customer to play middleman, between us and the old designer, and see if the customer can get us access to the original hosting... Or some other way that I to do this that I am missing? Thanks, Mark |

Before you start any work, send them a contract and inside the contract put something like "Once mockup is approved by Their Name, hosting Control Panel details must by provided to YOUR NAME OR COMPANY NAME to complete the installation of the mobile website." You might be able to word it better, but you get the idea. I'm assuming you will take some sort of payment to start the process, and then when it comes to the installation of the redirect script, if the other designer gives you any problems...you can easily turn it around and make them look like the bad guy. You tell your client they are prohibiting you from gaining the info you need to complete the project and since the client already paid...I'm sure they will make sure you get what's needed so they don't lose out on their payment. Hope that helps and make sense. |

I would say if the clients designer could have made/was interested in offering a mobile site he would have already? more than likely he will ad your script without incident? Please let us know how this turns out? Thanks |

I agree. Also a lot of website owners are NOT happy with their webmasters. So they will support you in getting your things done.
