I want to build an app on fitness and health. I need to know how do i research my market to find out what my customers would like in my app and how i can market it? And also what kind of companies can i use to put ads on the free version of the app? And how can i be different in the market? Do I need a paid version of the app?

It's truly complicated when marketing mobile apps with the competition high and the market constantly busy. In this kind of setting, your app can easily be lost. The marketing strategies you should include are Ad Networks, organic marketing - keep in mind that rankings differ with Google Play Store and the Apple App Store, and of course, social media.

There are bigger players out there that are willing to professionally promote your app but they need to rate it if it will be beneficial for them or not. Simply if in their opinion it will be an easy-selling app then they'll help you for some percentage of sales. I know that one of those big hits like Angry Birds have went through this. Or maybe it was Cut the Rope, I don't remember. Anyways, you get my point. Other than that, I would heavily use social media, email to blogs, inform fitness clubs about my app, promote the app on body building and fitness forums and use email newsletters. Also, be sure to cut off some functions of the app and present it on app store for free. Include possibility to upgrade the app to full version in demo version. This will gain interest and may pull buyers to you.

The first thing you need to think about is how useful it's going to be to the end user. Blood pressure apps, cholesterol testing apps, pregnancy predicting apps, apps that calculate how many calories you use when you walk/run/train, are generally the types of things that are popular, but you won't be able to build one of those with your typical low-cost app builder, so it will cost money to develop. If I was you I'd be looking at the diet market. Maybe something that takes a popular diet plan and gives them daily advice on the choices they've got for breakfast/lunch/dinner. That could probably be done quite easily/cheaply, you'd be riding off the back of the latest diet "fads" and you never know, you could have a real winner on your hands ;-) Hope this helps, ~ Emma |

Hey Rhoda1990, You have been given some good advice on the posts above but bear in mind that if you want your app to be successful and be downloaded a lot you need to advertise it. Many ad networks will be more than happy to promote your app, I suggest investing a small amount threw a few major ad networks and testing the results. After a couple of weeks you will have good statistics in where you should invest your money. Regarding the monetization of your app, at the beginning you need to establish a good rank and gain positive reviews. I suggest using Startapp, a very non intrusive ad network, that can be intergrated together with Admob and pay you great revenue. Startapp offers both out of app and in app monetization solutions. Visit there website at Mobile Monetization | Mobile Marketing | StartApp |

To check your competition, you can go to Google Play Store and look for similar apps on your niche. This way, you will get an overview on what kind of apps that downloaded the most. As for free plan, you can go for AdMob and RevMob. |

Best way to promite your mobile application is application store, where you will get lots of clients. But you should have developer account there in order to keep for selling

This is somewhat off the topic but I would just like to mention that it's difficult to trust Fiverr nowadays. Sure, there are still that offer legit and quality gigs but their numbers are getting smaller and they are hard to find. |

You must target those companies who're into similar field, to make it different you need to develop marketing strategy. Initially you've to make analysis about your competitors and their apps (what actually it does?) and then you've to find a way to put little bit of elegance onto your app. And if you're looking for mobile traffic then I'd suggest you to try ad networks, because that's what they do. |
