I am working on a site http://www.retax.com and am wondering if I need to optimize it for mobile. When I look at the site on my mobile, I can see the site and can enlarge if I want to read it more closely. I think it gets the pont across even if it is not optomized. I wanted to hear from people as to if they think I need a mobile version and if so why. |

How would you like to visit a website on your desktop computer if you had to do a lot of zooming and scrolling? It is the same for mobile devices. It is true that visitors can still visit it and enlarge and scroll to view it but it will be a pain for them to browse your website.

Thanks for your response. This brings me to another question. I am not very mobile savvy - but someone told me that a site like this people are not going to look at on their mobile. People use mobile more for checking prices online ect - an info site is more likely to be viewed on a desktop - is this true? Also, I can see it without zooming - at least get an idea of what they are about, you can't?

If you site is down using wordpress you can install a couple of different widgets that convert your sites for cell phone users So Mobile Map and WP touch Mobile plug in off the top of my head |

Your customers can get lost and frustrated with all the enlarging, scrolling, and clicking in order to view your site. Mobile optimization is mainly about reward and convenience.
