Hello - I just updated my iphone to ios7 and I realized something changed and I don't know how to fix this. Here's my problem.... I design web apps. And I've always used this code: <meta name="apple-mobile-web-app-capable" content="yes"/> Never had a problem. Until now. Now when I use the tap to call button, nothing happens. It won't open the phone, or give the option of calling or cancelling. Just nothing. Is anyone here having that problem? Why did it work with ios6, but not now? If that's the way it's going to be, I have to change the code from yes to no to make it work. But if I do that, it opens in safari with the browser bars instead of a self contained looking app. Any solutions or help would be appreciated. Thanks Mike |

Try: <a href="tel:555-555-5555">555-555-5555</a> Its just native HTML, so should just work, if you're developing Web Apps. |

@gary - thats works fine as you would expect in regular safari but this is a different issue as i explain. @mike its not you - its Apples backward thinking on this one with the new IOS7 - they have royally messed up the full screen web app mode! They have apparently killed any URI integration so things like click to call dont work any more in full screen web app mode... yep go figure! Like how in the world does that make things better? It's not just web-app mode that's been messed up there's a lot of other things too - in my opinion they have moved backwards with this update instead of forward - Apple have really dropped the ball here they have down graded the overall end user mobile experience and pretty much ruined what used to be an enviable feature of the iPhone... it's full screen web app mode! Feel free to read this for more info on the problem you are having and other problems that your may encounter: http://www.mobilexweb.com/blog/safar...ms-apis-review And then walk away shaking your head asking yourself WTF awere they thinking during development phase... |

@mak - I can confirm this issue was fixed with the iOS7.0.3 update - am glad as for a while i thought that was the end of the full screen web app mode as we know it!
