Hello, I was wondering what is the best way to have customers pay for mobile websites and other services. The problem is that when you talk on the phone, you've made the website and the customer says, I have changed my mind, I don't want the mobile website anymore so I won't pay. I thought of setting up a simple contract which states that the business owner has to pay half of the amount beforehand and when finished the rest of the money. However how do you let a customer pay beforehand if they just found about you and your services. There must be some form of trust been established for the business owner to pay a sum of money to someone they have never met before , I would think. How do you handle this ? I am ready to go online with my online marketing and webdesign company for real, before I did something occasionally for business owners, but now I have decided to go for it and I mean go all the way. I have a guy who is unemployed searching the internet for leads for which I pay him. This way I can focus more on selling my products and services instead of searchin / prospecting myself for hours and hours. In future I am planning to expand to more people prospecting for me. My company benefits and the people who are unemployed benefit. The more businesses they find that buy my products and services, the more they earn. I pay them per business / lead that buys my product and I pay them an amount they can't believe at first. I pay them 75 euros around 100 dollars for each company that buys a mobile website from me. The guy who is working for me now couldn't believe this was real, he thought I was joking. After I explained he is now on the internet finding quality leads for me 7 days a week. Safe to say he is motivated. Funny to hear and see people reject this offer, even friends cause they just don't believe it is possible. They have money or opportunity blocks in their system, that is how I look at it. I know cause I had money / opportunity blocks for years. Of course I won't make as much by paying people 75 euros / 100 dollars per lead / business that buys mobile from me, but my aim is to build a client base first. Later on I can upsell other services to these businesses / business owners. You know what they say opportunity comes knocking at peoples doors when they are out buying lottery tickets !!! (Quote by a succesful businessman, forgot his name ) Thanks, Chris |

I was thinking along the same lines, ask a 50% deposit up front. Thanks for your insights Mr Bill. | |

It is best at first to get 50% upfront payment, that as Mr. Bill says, compels them to complete the transaction.

Yes, make the pay an upfront % fee to begin the process. Start building the mobile website on your server and once completed show them. If they approve of everything you can then get either the remaining full % to move the mobile website over to their server or move it over and then collect on the rest after you've made the switch. Hope that helps. |
