We recently worked with a client who offered mobile marketing and I must admit, before this, we did not know how important mobile marketing is. If people are thinking about advertising in newspapers, either in the UK or in the USA, then what I would say is, check out mobile marketing. When we spoke to people about mobile marketing, the first thought we got back from people was, mobile marketing is used by the big companies, it is expensive, not an expense a small business owner can afford. However, these people were wrong, it should be the small business owner who uses mobile marketing. Mobile marketing is cost effective, as well as allowing the small business owner to be able to afford to market their product, they can also use mobile marketing to get the message straight out to the consumer. Instead of worrying about what side of the newspaper to advertise on and paying more for the correct side, then worrying if anyone is going to read the advert, with mobile marketing, it is a direct approach to the consumer. All I am saying is, if you think you cannot afford mobile marketing, then speak to companies who offer the service, you will be surprised. |

Mobile marketing can be a number of different things, but the essence is what Robert says, that it's direct and one-on-one. Typically mobile open rate is at +95% vs. the average e-mail open rate that is between 10-20%. Even better, messages sent to mobile are opened within the first few minutes while e-mails can take hours before anyone opens. You have to be aware, though. Spam tolerance in the mobile space is very low, and it is required that users opt in to your marketing list before you can send them any messages. As to the delivery methods of mobile marketing, you I list a few examples: - Text messages - Notifications through apps - Banner ads in apps (you've seen them in most all free apps) - Splash pages in apps - Apple Passbook (digital passes; create a sample pass at PassExpress to see what they look like. PS! If you are on an Android device you need to download PassWallet from the Google Play store first.) - Search engine optimization targeted to customers who search from their phones while on the go - QR codes (scan to access a website, download an app, view enhanced reality, etc.) I'm sure there are other options I have not listed here, but I hope this helps clarify what mobile marketing is. |

I'm going to need to research it..I've noticed that I personally open and read more text messages than I do emails. Food for thought, for sure.

Hi, I agree, mobile marketing is way forward. Businesses like restaurant has its great impact. Nowadays people browse (on their cellphones) before approaching to good one. Mobile marketing has given opportunity to retailer and app developer as well. |
