What exactly are you trying to do? Why do you need your landline to receive SMS messages?

Try Zipwhip I have kept my landline. In my opinion it gives the appearance of legitimate business conceded for no good reasons. I even have a fax machine and enjoy using it. |

Best thing to do is to port your landline over to Twilio and then you will have voice and SMS capability with the number. I used to use Vonage and I wanted to get rid of the $32/mo charge since we didn't use our landline number much anymore, but we have had the number for many years and I wanted to keep it. I ported the number to Twilio and set it up to forward incoming calls to my old landline number to my google voice number. Twilio charges me $1 per month, any outgoing calls are free because its Google voice, and any incoming calls on my landline number are 1 cent per minute. To receive SMS, simply set up a little script that forwards incoming SMS messages to your cell phone. Works great. |
