I want to make my website responsive and will no longer use mobile website. I have 2 questions

The purpose of responsive design is too avoid duplicate content between mobile and web version.

1. No need to inform Google, because Google will automatically indexing the site
2. Redirect every mobile url to most relevant page, instead of redirect all to homepage. Then submit a new sitemap to webmaster tool.
3. Responsive design only optimize a webpage to fit screen size, the images size remain no change, to optimize it we need to serve scale images size.

yes the redirection is the most important thing...it is the canonical aspect of website...redirecting to the best page or home page will ensure that google and other search engines will understand that it is the single site with different accessing options....
