Using email list as your traffic source
Share on:
fb share twitter share gplus share more share

Hello everyone,
I turn pages over the forum for the last few days and many people adviced instead of BUYING traffic to create your customer base so you won't lose them after one impression, so the email list was suggested.
Creating a squeeze page etc and making your own email list.

My question is, why do I need to spend so much time and probably money in making that list instead of grabbing emails lists from google?
Subscribers will give me a better converation rate then random people but lets assume that I have a 100k random email list which generates me 0.1% converation rate thats 1k converations!
For a subscribers list of 1k people which generates me a 10% converation right which is a lot I get 100 converations.

I would like to know what do you think about that.
Thanks.

Hey man,

first, calculation - 0.1% (which is 0.001) out of 100K is 100 conversions... and still, the 0.1% is high for random emails - usually, about 10%-15% of a targeted emails list (better lists can perform better) actually open the emails, and then, you're talking about conversion rates...
but to leave that aside, using email addresses of subscribers who didn't actually subscribed to your list, meaning accepted you'll send them emails... is a felony in most countries, and you can get a very high fine!!!

I downloaded many emails lists in the past few days, 90% of the emails are returned with a failed message and I didn't received 1 click on my campaign.. converations?haha
Also gmail is limiting you to send 500 mails in a day.

I don't know what he is trying to sell but a quality email list might do the job, the lists I use was crap.

edit:
I just signed to mailchimp it's a very nice platform, but didn't they banned you? I got a warned since I had a bounce rate of 21.28%.
