Twilio vs. EZ Texting?
Share on:
fb share twitter share gplus share more share

I'm going to set up sms for a restaurant/bar, and Im ready to use twilio, but I've heard around that twilio is not that good of a service provider. With that said, no one seems to give good reasons why they aren't, so I'm hoping someone here can tell me?

Also, what can I tell my client to convince them to pay me money each month for the service? They would like to send out the sms messages themselves, if it's not too complicated for them to do. We all know it's not that complicated, so what can I say to get them to pay me each month for the service?

Thanks in advance!

Can't delete it, so I'm checking in to let you all know I figured out the situation.

Twilio is less user friendly, but my client doesn't have to know what company I'm using. Also, twilio charges every message; inbound and outbound. EZ texting does not. So if i'm paying for 5000 messages, I'm getting more for my buck with EZ texting.

So anyway I've solved my issue, hope my response helps someone else in need in the future. : )

I've tried just about every text messaging provider out there and I think you should be using Mogreet Express. It's a great web-based text message marketing service that allows you to send text, pictures, video and audio. Enjoy!

Check it out here: Restaurant Text Message Marketing | Mogreet Express

Twilio is an excellent service provider. If they weren't you wouldn't see companies like Home Depot and Salesforce.com depending on them.

You have to provide value, you're not in the business of "convincing" anyone to pay you every month. They have to get more value out of it than they pay you. Its your job to demonstrate that value.

SMS can cut the cost of your client's advertising, print media etc. It can provide instantaneous interaction with their customers at any given time. It can send out reminders so your clients don't lose money on no shows. It can turn slow days or nights into busy ones. It can be used for random text drawings and giveaways. Find out where their pain is and be the solution to either making them money, or cutting their costs.

Because Twilio has voice capability, your local SMS number can be used to take calls at the business, collect more subscribers over the phone, or forward to a cell phone after hours, etc. And yes, you can set it up so that they can send out SMS to their list using their own cell phone. (use this wisely though!)

Soon MMS will be available for long codes. Text a keyword and get a photo of a print coupon on your phone. Can't wait for that to be available.
