I am about ready to start cold calling. In addition to my question here, I also have a question about billing. Is it unprofessional to have businesses pay me personally or do I need to set up a business account? Is there a way I can alias a personal bank account? My plan was to use my personal account and "virtual envelopes" to manage my business money until I have enough clients to actually open a DBA account. But does this get in the way of professionalism? Will businesses take me seriously if I bill them as "John Doe, Mobile Agent?" Or is it imperative I take the extra step to bill them as "John Doe Mobile?" Basically I just don't want to deal with the hassle of a DBA account until I get some revenue. Thanks in advance, warriors. |

I think I will repost this on the offline marketing board. I may have misunderstood what "mobile marketing" meant, but I was talking about using text message campaigns to bring in customers.

I personally don't think it would matter. If your service speaks for itself then personally I wouldn't care how you handle your business affairs. Want me to write the check to you? To your business? My point is that you can have a regular name to do business in...because all that matters is if you are professional and deliver what you promised in the eyes of the client. I've dealt with numerous "businesses" doing business in their corporate name...and I wouldn't even send my worst enemy's dog to them as a referral. Pavon |
