admob questions

hi there,i am new to mobile marketing and wish to get started with admob,can i know if we can embed admob ads inside an android apps which is not publish on google play?? because as you all know there is a space on admob need you to fill up the android package URL ,please answer my doubt,thanks~

EDIT:
If you click the blue icon next to package url field you will see it says

If you are linking to an Android App that is not in the Android Market, you may use http://

So I would think that you can embed admob ads inside an android apps which is not publish on google play.

You would also have to check the terms for the place you want to publish the app as they might not allow google ads in the apps.
