I confess I do not know much about mobile marketing. I just started looking into it. My family owns a restaurant, someone approached us and asked if we would be interested in purchasing a plan where we pay $115 a month for this person to text all of our followers upcoming events and promotions about our restaurant. We would have to promote the number in order to get people to subscribe to our service. Once they subscribe he sends out texts weekly / monthly. My questions are : 1) How cheap can one do this for? I feel as if I can set this up for our business at a cheaper rate but don't have the proper guidance as to where to find the answers. I know this would be a walk in the park but don't know which sms texting service is the best. 2) Is this market saturated? Say I did this for our business and wanted to market it to local business for a fixed rate, would this be worth a shot or no. I appreciate anyone who gives me feedback, just trying to help save a few bucks and maybe make a few bucks on the side. Thanks! |

I am a Mobile Marketing Expert for local businesses like yours. The truth is you can get it done for a lot cheaper if you want to do the research AND do the management yourself. The extra money is for the hands off effect. For example with my clients they purchase packages which include monthly management so they do not have to log in and type up messages themselves. Once a month we just meet, they tell me which specials to run on which days of the month and then I do all the work of typing up and sending out messages for them. I'm pretty sure the market is not saturated. Mobile is a great opportunity that will be here to last. |

Hi thanks for everyone's response. ezmobile, The promotion is if customers subscribe to our sms they get a free alcoholic beverage or a percentage off their bill. In exchange we send them monthly coupons as well as upcoming live entertainment that we provide. As of now we do have a few hundred subscribers so looking for the best plan with cheapest rates. Thanks Joe, I will check it out! |

Hey yahoo community! I was just wondering, for any of you business or tech entrepreneurs out there, what do you think would be a good tech startup right now? I'm kind of in a block right now and can't think of any, haha. I'm thinking about a Web Design/Development company, or possibly a new twist or take on cloud based web storage, i'm a big computer/web guy, know how to program but I can certainly learn a lot more. i'd love to hear input or any new ideas! Thanks!
