I produced Keyboard android app and will upload it this week as free app. One of my friend told me to place mobile ad in keyboard application to generate revenue. Is it a good idea for keyboard app? Will I earn from these ads if 10000+ users download and use this app?

Keyboard app? For like texting? If that is the case then dont add any ads no one will download and if they do then they will never use it because they dont want to be texting and an ad pops up

It is a typing keyboard. The pop up ad is disturbing but what about banner ad at the top of keys?

An add would help you get substantial revenue because your app sounds like one that will be used very frequently by users. So if you get around 100,000+ downloads, you will get really good revenue out of ads itself.

Yeah, you can advertise with only pop up ads when users open some sites, its automatically clicks your sites and download your app. So pop up ads is better than banner ads..

I'd go with something like mobile popunders or even Exit re-directs. That way you're not intruding "that much" on the user experience.

Just my 2 cents here, run 1 start up ad. You could obviously test many. But I have produced apps for people with 1 start up advert that have worked very well. Cheers |

Yeah if it's for typing, then you can do as you plan above, or give a free version with less basic features, then have paid version with additional features on it. Regards, Joel | |

Accidental clicks on mobile ads are a big problem some say accounting for up to 40-50% of the advertisers clicks. As the app owner you have limited options really, either charge for your apps features or run in-app ads.

I suggest you can bump up your keyboard and keep a banner ad of Admob or similar services running in the bottom. Interstitial or pop ups during writing an sms or a message would be really annoying, instead of that if you can place banner ad in the bottom giving user plenty of space to write you can earn out of impressions.
