Would like to set up a website mobile friendly or app that customers can pay to post garage and yard sales and then people locally can follow listings on their cellphones from sale to sale rather than what I used to do cut out garage sale section then travel from one to another using that to find them. every Sat. Sun.Make sense?Any ideas as to how to do as finding such a script is difficult.

Building a mobile app for this purpose sounds like a good idea. Go ahead with that.

Mobile apps like this would be best, You have more options over a website, it would also look cleaner and more professional. You also have the option of push notifications too.

A mobile app is not a bad idea, especially with the push notification option, but it will take you more time/money as you'll have to make one for both iOS and Android devices. You'll also have to wait for approval from the app stores (especially Apple) for every new update, which sometimes can make it a hassle. Have you considered a Passbook pass? It's mobile and would let you both provide multiple listings as there is no limit to the amount of text, plus you have both the push notification option and a geo location option for up to 10 separate addresses.

If you're not familiar with Passbook, it's basically a digital pass based on Apple technology (native app), but also usable on Android devices by downloading the free PassWallet app. For more info on what Passbook is and how it works, check this FAQ:

The app review process is currently around 7 days, but for this type of app you could have everything server side so no need to keep submitting for review, you could just update the server side and the app would be updated instantly

Not exactly what you are looking for, but check out ClassiPress. You can charge per listing. That can be individual items or events.

I have actually customized this theme (it is responsive) and iframe it into a mobile app and it works well.

An app would be better than a mobile website, so people can just pull it up on the go and see yard sales without putting in your url in their phones or tablets on the go.

An app like that isn't hard to create, plus there is so much software out that makes coding so easy.

Go with the app on this one. Great idea! Please keep us updated on how you plan to market this (if you don't mind sharing of course).
