I'm using WordPress to develop a blog that I only want mobile viewers to be able to access and use. I don't want it visible or accessible via desktop. Does anyone know of a plugin that can prevent a desktop user from viewing a website, but is visible on a mobile device?

Take a look at this page on Wordpress: WordPress › Support ยป How to redirect links for mobile using htaccess? Just as a note, I use Dolphin as my browser and I have the default emulation set to "Desktop" because I hate most mobile sites. If something isn't working right, I then switch the emulator. I don't know why you would want to restrict desktop users from using your site, I know it would just annoy me depending on what you presented to "desktop" machines. |

Use CloudFlare for your DNS - one of their settings is mobile detection that will automatically redirect users between mobile and desktop sites (running from different subdomains) based on their device type.

you can not restrict desktop users, but you can force them to view mobile site. if you wish to mobile users to see mobile sites, and desktop users to see desktop sites you can also do this. but both condition stated above is possible. easily. |

Why not setup a mobile redirect for every page and then for the home page setup a simple splash page that say something like "You must be using a mobile device to view this website". Probably the easiest and least technical way to go about this. Hope that helps |

Make a site only for mobile and use .htaccess to detect Desktop computers and send them to a custom error page "Eg: Our website only work on mobile" 1. You can show a mobile site to desktop users 2. Redirect Desktop users via .htaccess to your custom error page. Note: You can't completely ban Desktop users because of there is a lot of Browser Add-ons for using mobile browser agent. |

I've seen a few websites that do things similar to this. They have a splash page for mobile sites that tells them to view the site on a desktop to get the "full experience."
