Ever heard of Chagas, the "kissing bug"?

Outside Latin America, the United States has the highest number of cases, followed by Spain. It is estimated that between 40,000 and 80,000 Latin Americans in Spain - mainly from Bolivia - have either the disease or the parasite. And around 90% of those do not know they have it.
This is a disease that is predicted to stealthily increase globally, and rapidly.

In parts of the world where the kissing bug doesn't exist, the parasite can still be spread by infected people via blood transfusions, organ transplants, or in the womb.
Chagas disease - inheriting a silent killer

And maybe that's not all you have to worry about . . .

Five diseases far deadlier than Ebola found in the US

Ain't life grand.

Outside of HIV, those are really not that bad. ALL have cures of some sort, and likely won't happen. Sadly, HIV is a PC protected disease, so it may be a while before you know you could be infected! There is also no cure.

As for chagas, they actually keep those bugs. The bugs are carriers of the disease. They easily acquire it by sucking blood from an infected animal, and never get over it. When they suck blood from an aninfected animal, they pass the disease on.
