Some things never change - The 4th of July is ALWAYS foggy and overcast on the San Francisco Bay, even here on the East end 30 miles from the city of SF.

It isn't really summer here until late August/September ("Indian Summer") but we have little 'pockets' of hot days now and then. (just last week 97 degrees farenHOT).

Even if it is one of those times, it will turn gray on the 4th! "The coldest Winter I ever spent was a Summer in San Francisco".

...Anyway, I was not sure if there would be any fireworks being in a bankrupt city of a bankrupt state, in a bankrupt country.

There were very few firecrackers or anything here. Very sparse fireworks which I usually can see all the way to SF from my window on the Bay.

They had the whole regalia in NY as usual (on TV) so I am glad we can still afford fireworks.

Irregardless, it is still a great country and we will survive - even through this bad period where something very strange has happened and someone has stolen all the money and then asked the people it was stolen from to replace it. Well not asked but just took again along with the jobs and investments.

"Something is happening here and you don't know what is, do you Mr. Jones".

Okay - I live in Central Washington and we have an extremely large Hispanic population. Last night I went to the city park for the fireworks and celebration. The fireworks were spectacularly done for a small town. Everyone in town was there.
The display started with the National Anthem - and I looked around the crowd while I stood as it was being sung.

Here's where the rant comes in -- all around the park there were Natural Americans - people that have lived here for generations parked on their butts as the Anthem played. Not one damned drop of respect for it. There was not ONE - NOT ONE Hispanic that I could see that was not on their feet and singing along.

Now I realize that illegals are putting a major crimp on everyone -especially legal immigrants who are now feeling the pangs of true prejudice and hatred from many Americans because of the vastness of the problems illegals are creating - and face it, you can usually tell who is Hispanic, but you can't SEE if they are legal or not.

But for my money - if you sat on your butt while the anthem played, maybe the illegal standing next to you singing their heart out to it with their hand over their heart should be given YOUR citizenship and we can deport your uncaring, disrespectufl butt. You are probably a major part of this country's problems yourself.
