UK's favorite tourism sites - top 10

Wow - these pics make me rethink ever going to the UK if I get the chance. I didn't go when I was on the mainland in Europe. These make me think I made a big mistake. Guess the UK is a tad like NYC. It just hits the mind as one big heap of geometric cement - but the back land country is nothing less than spectacular.

Anyhow - would love to see all 10 of these sites. I can sure see why they are favs over there.

    The two I felt certain, before looking, would be on the list were Stonehenge and the Giant's Causeway.

    The Giant's Causeway (one of the world's most unusual geological features) isn't there, so I strongly suspect that when that list was drawn up by "asking UK citizens for their favorites", the people of Northern Ireland were excluded from the poll.

        By the way, did you know that in England all of us are given a couple of mankinds most pressing problems to resolve?

        Alexa is tasked to determine whether tea should be served with milk in first or last, and whether jam should be on the cream (Devon) or under it (Cornwall) in a cream tea.

        Perhaps you could help the poor girl if you ever come to England.

    I tend to think of it as lots of countryside with towns inbetween - but then I have the good fortune to have all this within a 10-20 minute drive in different directions :

    Lynn - wonderful pictures. I like living in sparsely populated areas just for reasons of being able to live in picture quality territory.

    Dan - I've seen pics, and heard of the area......and you are spot on.....it would not hurt my feelings one bit if I were forced to visit. At all.

    Oh - and my statement about "all cement"........I don't think Ireland and Scotland, or even Wales gives the same impression as England. I find people here usually equate England with London...a big dirty city - just like they think of NY as being just NYC when it is actually mostly beautiful mountains and forestry and pretty little towns scattered along the countryside.
