I have IE8 right now with vista.
I was comtemplating downloading FF.I went to download it and it said there where some issues.
I am no Pc pilot and can do everything.
What i need to know is FF worth downloading?
Also, what happens to IE8?Do i now have 2 choices to click on my desktop?
What happens to my email,favorites,bookmarks,ect..
I was also planning on running ppc spy as an addon.
Thanks,pcpupil.

It's not a problem at all. You can have a shortcut for each on the desktop and just click the one you want to start. After you have ff installed, click on file, then on import, and import all your bookmarks from ie. Takes about 3 seconds.

A couple of really good add ons for ff are the web developer toolbar if you do anything with css, and xmarks, a system that backs up your bookmarks on line automatically.

No problems here with Vista and FireFox+IE8. Works amazing, clean as a whistle.

@Lloyd Buchinski: I'd like to add Adblock Plus to your list of nice addons for Firefox!

Thanks for all your responses.Ill go try and download it.Im on a dial up so ill see.
I just wondering because im really not that pc minded when it comes to trying to trouble shoot something.

    To Lloyd,
My website is in my sig.Someone told me if i changed my CSS somehow i could change the look of my site.
Could this FF addon[web d toolbar].Do this easily like a WYSIGIT editor.
Or would i just screw things up and should outsource it to another experienced warrior.
I just found out what CSS ment a few months ago.
Are any of you running the free version of ppc web spy on your FFox?.

Your site does have a sizable css sheet. The neat thing about the 'edit css' option in the web developer toolbar is that you can try out any change, one after the other, without changing the original style sheet. As soon as you close the editor or the browser page, everything is back to the way it was. If you do come up with a change you like you have to copy it from the 'edit css' pane and paste it to your style sheet.

Some of the things controlled by css on your page, like colors and fonts are really easy and even fun to fool around with. A few others like sizes and forms on that page could inspire profanity.

One of my favorite books if you want to get into it, is "html, xhtml, and css" by Elizabeth Castro. It's a really good starting book. It is cheap from Amazon, really well organized, and has screen shots of almost every piece of code discussed. It isn't as big as it might sound because there isn't much difference between html and xhtml.

    Thanks Lloyd.
Ill go download FF and maybe play with it.Ill also go to amazon and check out the book.
The person just suggested i change the looks of my site so it doesnt look like all the other cookie cutter ones.
I tried to download last night but it said it would take over an hour and it wasnt even finished starting past 1%.As i download the time keeps going up until it figures out the best rough estimate and then starts coming down.

I was on dial up for years and mostly it was hardly even a problem. I did have a couple of really large downloads. If I remember right Open Office was around 6 hours. I just waited til bedtime, set the puter not to go to sleep like me, and started the download. Didn't get a single wrong number call all night long.

I have an isp (to me that's an interrupted sleeping pattern) that I enjoy and I usually check on how things are going once or twice in a night in a situation like that. I am surprised that ff would take even that long on dial up but I'm out of touch with it a bit now.

      good luck with all that.

I also use FF with XP sp3. They are really cool. But you also should try Chrome.

It's very powerful than the others. All you need to do is just discover it. And you'll get surpraised with the result.

When i click on the help file, vista says its not allowed or isnt supported with ths version of windows.
Ill wait and see what others say.
I will check it out though and thanks for your response.Always good to learn new things.

    @pokerlover,
I found out and i hope im saying this right.I bought a new PC,2 yrs ago
Its an HP.IT has 2048 MB ram.The salesman[person] at Circuit city told me it was the second best they had on the shelf. He said it could do it all.And it does, but slowly.
Another person thats into computers told me that Vista takes almost or more than 1-2 gig to even run.
So i have 2 GIG of memory right?[2048mb]=2 GB.
So most all the ram i have runs vista.I think.I was told that XP does everything that vista does without a couple of amenities, but they could be added. And XP only uses 1/3rd the ram of vista.
Next,i have the 64x2 dual core processor.Ill have to call HP and ask what all this means,im at a loss.
Theres some extra accesaries in vist i believe,
    such as
    sound recorder
    sync
    command prompt
    network pojector
    snipping tool
So im not sure really.Hope someone can help.Ill call then post back.
I was thinking about going back to XP.
