A Huge Public Thank You to Shane...

And even that isn't enough to show my deep heartfelt gratitude.

Shane, out of the kindness of his heart while I was deep in grief over Grama, offered to touch up any photos of her that I wanted.

The truth was that almost all of them were in excellent shape with the exception of one. Her wedding photo that had suffered a small flood in her basement decades and decades ago. It got wet, molded and was in a cardboard keeper/frame that got stuck to it.

I was sure it was beyond help, but Shane insisted I send it over to him. I did.

He sent it back and OMGosh!

He fixed it!

I am so grateful and excited and happy and must just extoll his praises!

Just look what he's done!

Before...

After...

I love you, Shane!!

Forever grateful,
Terra

    Nice Shane. One class act.

You have a real talent. Why you aren't doing this for bucks, I don't know - but you want to make money online - you should offer this service. I bet you could make a nice living at it.

Yes, possibly, but this service is offered on Fiverr. l considered sending this over to them, but wanted to make sure that this was professionally done!

Fiverr gigs tend to cut some corners occasionally!

I did cut the curtains from the left, reversed then and put it on the right, with some modifications to make it look different.

The workload would have been to great otherwise.

Shane, you have to look at it like a talented writer would.

Writers that know their skill level don't let writers on Fiver stop them from commanding a price they are worth.

            Think about it.

I agree on both counts, TB!

Shane did a very wonderful job and as you can probably detect, I'm very impressed with his impressive work.

I've always told my children and grandchildren that we come from good genes. Grama was a formidable woman too. She just exhumed such power under grace, a force of nature I'd say. =)

But wait there's more, l tried to colorise the image as well. Did a pretty good job, but trying to find a wwi uniform wasn't easy.

          OMGosh Shane!

If you could have just heard my squeal of delight just now, you'd probably have ringing ears right now lol!

I'm so irked that I just tried to thank you only to find my thanks button has disappeared, but not even that can dampen my spirits over this!

Yes, yes, yes, please send it over!

You have no way of knowing this, but bright red lipstick has always been my grama's signature. Even the day she fell, she was wearing it.

And if that wasn't uncanny enough, for the past 20 years, every gift I received from her was or had pink in it. I'm talking undies, socks, sweaters, purses, flowers, jewelry, jammies, coats and jackets, blouses, sandals, vases, wall hangings, and yes, she even found Christmas wrapping paper with pink in it and always used pink tissue paper for me while everyone else got the classic white.

What you have done just so expresses and solidifies my and grama's relationship with one another!

Shane, you are a gift to me, a gift that keeps on giving!

I am indebted to you, Shane, honestly. If there is anything I can help you with, don't you dare hesitate to ask and if it is within my power, I'll do it! =)

Shane, I know I like to nag, but I don't have any bets. I used to do when I managed staff as we had office sweepstakes but now I am the only staff member so it is a bit odd.
My sister, on the other hand, owns part of a horse but no idea if hers is even running tomorrow.

Thanks Khemosabi,...hmmmm, maybe there is a need, but this wasn't an easy project.

For starters Norton or Ymail or Photoshop software or something else, got the idea that this was a copyrighted image, (might have been Norton scanning the image, and possibility having kittens)?

But either way Photoshop was crashing like their were no tomorrows, but thankfully after half a dozen Photoshop restarts l restarted the Laptop and it seemed to work a bit better.

So this was a fun, challenging and interesting project, but not something l would probably do on a regular bases.

Yes, l give up when it can't be done!

But this project is similar to my Graphicriver flyer business, initially the project is a dogs breakfast, but over time, (if l am lucky) it looks better and is hopefully 5 stars at the end.

Most of the time it is, (but not always) but my technique is getting better, so l should have an impressive folio and income at the end of it!

Cleaning her face, was a worry, but just working around the main facial features, did the trick.

The curtains were the easiest part, since it just involved, removing the messy curtains around her, and them pasting the reversed curtains from left to right, to fill in the blanks. And also replicate that curtain layer behind the image to fill in some transparent areas.

I have had plenty of experience with Claudes mugshot.
