R.I.P. Mrs Wolowitz

Carol Ann Susi who played the voice of Howard's mother on Big Bang has passed away. Talk about a shock.

    Wow.

    They probably knew she was sick. The last couple episodes they had her "in" the episode but not her voice. Howard went home to confront Stewie and went bombing upstairs to scream at her, and Stewie said she was out. Last episode she was on the phone with Stewie but we couldn't hear her.

    I wonder if that's how they'll handle her part now or if they will get a sound-alike to play her role.

    It wouldn't be the same in BBT, one way to keep the continuity is to let the physical Mrs. Wolowitz into the story-- with Stewie and Mrs. Wolowitz as an official couple of the circle of nerdy friends.

    Personally, I think they should write her character out. Give her the funeral she deserves. It'll be difficult to do tastefully and still add some humor to it unless they do a very out of character dramatic BBT. These actors can pull it off, especially Simon Helberg who may be the most underrated actor on the show. He has had some very touching scenes over the years where he was more than just the stereotypical oversexed Jewish momma's boy.

    It might end up to be the most memorable BBT yet if they explore some of the more serious sides to some of the characters. We can see how Sheldon deals with the passing of someone close to a friend of his. We can even see a bigger transformation of Howard.

    Of course they may not want the show to go in that direction and if that's the case I don't know how they'll handle this. Bernadette does a close impression but nobody can take Susi's place.

    It will be interesting to see how the producers handle this.
