Why Robin Williams committed suicide?

Apparently, he was diagnosed with parkinsons which apparently is caused to some degree by a substance called Lewy Body. He was also being affected by what is known as Lewy Body Dementia.

Especially given his career, I could see why he would want to commit suicide. he would eventually become a part of the joke, as he could end up trying to converse with a hallucination, etc... Living with dementia is bad enough, but imagine the reactions, etc....

It's sad - but not as sad as it was when there seemed to be no real motivating reason.

I agree with that. In fact, I'd probably do it too, if afflicted with dementia.

I imagine the combination of Parkinson's, dementia, and having a TV show cancelled after just one year would be a lot to contend with for anyone, but particularly for someone who struggled with depression and has had many battles with addiction. It's still so sad that he is gone, but I sincerely hope he has found peace.

Same here. Especially the idea of being dependent on others. I can see it as a real option.

I thought from the git go it was Bi polar depression

Even though I do understand what you are saying....... if Bi Polar was the case, well I can personally understand how that could be a huge motivating factor.

And anyone who has had horrible bouts of Clinical depression can attest to this.

I read an interview with a friend of his, Williams, who added some new information. Williams was deeply in debt as a result of several divorce terms. He owed something like $30 million. He had a $30 million ranch in California on the market but it had not sold.

According to this friend, who declined to be identified, Williams was an intensely private person who actually disliked making movies. But he had to make them to raise money to pay debts, etc. Apparently he had a number of movies lined-up for the next several years or so. And of course he was not looking forward to it. The failure of that TV show hit him pretty hard.

His age was a factor. Just getting old and wanting to retire to his privacy. And of course all the health issues.

Divorce laws really have to be demolished and replaced with a more streamlined legal process suitable for the modern post-feminist era. I recently read about what it is like getting divorced in Florida -- nasty (but heaven for divorce lawyers).

The circumstances surrounding his death are very strange. I'm a self-proclaimed conspiracy theorist so I can't tell you what I really think about this case. If I speak my mind, the moderators will ban me for being insensitive.

No, they're not. At least not for anyone who understands anything about the connection between depression, serious health issues, challenging life circumstances, and suicidal ideation.

Perhaps you should stop trying to turn everything into some sort of conspiracy.

Well, they came up with likely reasons for a suicide, and there are apparently problems with a theft or con theory. And LBD makes suicide all the more likely, and the others less likely. ALSO, LBD like diseases are INCREDIBLY COMMON today. It is sad. ALSO, it sounds like this is something that will happen with all Parkinsons patients. Apparently LBD starts showing up about a year around the diagnosis. What happens is the lewy bodies appear, and they reduce dopamine, which causes the parkinsons, and they can spread which also gets rid of acetyl choline which all together cause dementia. Lewy discovered Lewy Bodies when he was researching parkinsons.

I find it very strange that he didn't leave a suicide note. That would have meant a lot to his family, friends and millions of fans.

You never know, maybe he thought he did, or just forgot.

It's not unusual or uncommon for individuals who commit suicide to not leave a note. Many don't for a variety of reasons, including simply not having the emotional energy to do so or because they feel whatever they say would be inadequate.
