The Vile Vortices WTF

I just watched about half of this on the history channel. The last half, ran for 2 hours

It was like something out of SIFI though it was real, live recorded events

A scientist thinks there is a deadly isotope in the Earth laid down in 12 locations around the earth. Who put it there (a long time ago), who knows? Aliens was the speculation.

Anyway, this isotope (26) is going to destroy the earths Magnetosphere in the near future (it was also discussed that the HARC project in Alaska was actually a US Government project to try and stop this)
unless, he sends a massive EMP into the earth to neutralize it. So a film crew and presenter were on site in the desert to record his attempt to do this. About ten people made up the this guys crew, they had generators and a wire matrix of some sort and capacitors all to generate enough power.

They made 2 attempts, the first did not do anything, not enough power. The second caused a big fair sized explosion and melted all the wires, a success apparently. But, when a team ran their Geiger counters over the area and discovered that the isotope was still present.

Then, a real flare up of tempers and blame and even physical stuff. We need more power says the scientist.. The film crew were tired and wanted to go so in the presenter said ok and they left.

They were about 2 miles away when a COLLOSAL explosion took place.

The scientist, his colleagues and crew were vaporized. Not a trace left. The presenter and his crew were fortuitous that they decided to leave when they did.

Apparently, not another attempt but an accident, a cam had been left on and recorded it. A workman was unreeling a wire and crossed a high voltage path or something.

Anyway, never seen anything like that on History before??. So, worth a look when repeated.

Someone's going tell me now it was a fake documentary?

The history channel needs money just like any other channel. So they buy programs like this. They also have ones on haunted houses, UFOs, finding Noah's ark and the Holy Grail, bigfoot, crop circles....the whole mess.

The Science Channel does the same thing. These shows are cheap to buy and fill spots.
Some of their programming is real crap. These aren't documentaries....they are bought for peanuts to attract viewers and sell ad space.

What if they're not stars? What if they are holes poked in the top of a container so we can breath?

I've never heard of an isotope that destroys magnetism. It's usually the other way around. As far as magnetism on earth - it's generated in the core, so not sure how something could interfere with it anyway. I can see it blowing up like that, though if it's there.

Sounds like Claude has the marker on this one. Who made the documentary?

Sounds like a group of teenagers, who have watched "The Core" too many times?

my favorite on is about the monkey that walks upright. There was a whole "documentary" trying to link the idea to Nazi Germany, and whether this was an Ape-Man hybrid.

I couldn't help myself, I had to watch it.

There was also one on a magician trying to find someone who could really levitate.

It was another one I had to watch.

The answer is "No" to both, by the way.

    I really enjoyed this one:

Werewolves: The Dark Survivors Special | Werewolves

I think I originally watched it on NatGeo. It's a "documentary" that follows a pack of werewolves as though they are real. Fun watch.

Raising a child is akin to knowing you're getting fired in 18 years and having to train your replacement without actively sabotaging them.

Didn't it make you uncomfortable being followed like that?

"Now look guys and girls, it really happened, it's real, and your all just in denial. Wanna know how I know for sure, it was on the telly, and the telly never lies. It tells the truth 100 percent of the time. Even drama programs are based on real life, look at Buck Rodgers, Star Trek and Lost In Space, all real

And, it was on the History channel too. Historical facts only, look at Ancient Aliens. Anyone else who denies this will be getting a visit from Walking Carpet! You may have to wait a while though as he's been abducted by aliens. They want to find out WHY"

I'm sorry about that, my account seems to have been hacked, normal service has been resumed, objective views and Logical Probabilities only.

I cant remember the scientists name, It was not so much the premise of the program, was more interested in if the experiment was actually performed and these people were killed! Looking on the History channel site was no use. Unless you think you would have any luck googling Mr A Scientist. Will have to look out for a repeat.
