Buy an xbox 360 and open it up?

Why do you need one of those processors anyway?

Its the common solder joint issues which plague Xbox 360s ... notably
the BGA joints under the CPU and GPU chips.

There are some DIY possible solutions to maybe fix the problems if you
Google for them. However, MS have spent about $1billion on development
and warranty costs to try and overcome the problems with less than
          100% success.

I eventually fixed and upgraded my own 360 for about the same cost
that I could have bought another working console unit.

Best advice is to sell the non working one with the error code and
clear statement that it is faulty on Ebay where similar faulty consoles
regularly sell. Either keep the accessories or sell them seperately.
Then buy new or used another working console. The accessories
and games are forward compatible with the latest new consoles.
I.e., an older type 203 watt powersupply will still plug into and
          power a later 175 or 150 watt(newest) console.

Even better bet .... get a PS3 or Wii on the latest deals

Thanks everyone! I need to find a good way to sell it, CL is not working out and E-bay is (JUDGING BY PRICES ON THERE NOW... ie $5.00 $10.00) not going to get me anything near what I paid for it.

If its a bare pre-hdmi console which has been opened and does not work,
then $10 to 20 is a fair price so long as cosmetically good. The DVD drive
is hardware keyed to the mainboard ...its only worth a few bucks to anyone who professionally succeeds in repairing a percentage of consoles.
If you bundle it with everything including hard drive, leads, PSU, controllers etc.,etc plus a few reasonable games you might even get
              $100+ ...mainly for the games.

If its one of the more recent HDMI models, then try Microsoft for
a quote for repair/replacement if unopened and not in warranty.

There are millions of dead consoles filling up warehouses globally.
$10 is way better than $0. Harsh but true

You're not going to get anything close to what you paid for it, unless you sell it locally to someone who's oblivious to the fact.
