I have become addicted to Sharktank, is anyone else addicted as well? What do you like about the show? What have you learned? I wonder if any Sharktank business has been on the WarriorForums?

      I love it, favorite show.

Here's an interesting thought. A man/woman walks in with a box, sets it down on the floor, whips off the cloth and says, here is a virtually free energy device, powered only by magnetic attraction. It will only need attention when the parts/bearings fail in perhaps ten years. He then plugs a plug board/power strip into it and cranks it over. Into the strip he plugs lamps, TV's etc and it powers them all up.

He says, now you can sit here and watch it work for as long as you like, it can be scaled up to run your whole home, car or much more.

      Would the Sharks invest?

I think not, it would have probably not made it on the show in the first place but if it did and they did, they would be in fear for their lives due to the repercussions to the oil based world economy. No amount of logical, factual, global warming pre-sell arguments would sway them.

Shark Tanks idea came from Dragons Den from the UK

Somebody did come on the show with some type of free energy device -or at least something that was supposed to provide very cheap energy. He was basically laughed off the stage. The Sharks are smart but fairly conventional in their thinking. I notice people with alternative health products are also met with quite a bit of hostility. Not that all alternative products are legit, but you can see how closed minded many people are. Or perhaps they are forced to be that way as representatives of the establishment.

You mean the guy who wanted to create artificial hurricanes for energy and the by product was gold?

Yes - to the UK version (we call it "Dragon's Den" but I think the format's the same).

I find it all very entertaining. I think everyone has their "favorite dragons" ("sharks"?) as well as the ones they "love to hate"?

    (i) That (just as is true of some other shows, and some of the "news" as well), what's broadcast has been selected for you by "people who know best" (both the people I know who have appeared didn't get their attendances broadcast) and that the BBC will - perhaps understandably - do their best to show the funniest examples rather than (perhaps?) "representative" ones. In addition to showing anyone who's actually successful in gaining investment, I mean.

(ii) That they should never have let Theo Paphitis go (sorry - UK-centric perception, there!).

(iii) That it's possible for them to make hugely successful, peak-viewing, widely exported, extremely popular TV shows on even the most minimal of budgets!
