Kay King, good to see you back. How did the move go?

Did you get snowed or iced on?

Feeling better about being closer to the family?

Fill us in. We want to know.

BTW, how are you ever going to be my future ex-wife if you keep moving further away?

Geez, Joe - you should have proposed BEFORE the move. Would have been an easier drive!

16.5 hrs of driving a uhaul towing a car hauler...not fun (and I wasn't even driving!). But we got here OK. My dog made friends with the dogs here immediately and the cats are doing well.

I felt like I was jet lagged for several days..and felt 'misplaced'. We set up my office in part of the big downstairs rec room. That gives me total privacy when I'm online (plus I have a big screen TV and good sound system down here).

I think this is going to work out well. The house is lovely - my son and his wife are doing everything to make me feel it's my home. I got rid of so much "stuff" that I still have occasional twinges about things I no longer own - but I'll get over it.

Today is the first day since I got here that everyone has gone back to their normal schedule. My son is working in his office upstairs - my daughter in law is at work and grandson at school. Now up to me to set a schedule that fits in with everyone else....don't think that will be too hard.

    thanks for asking!

I've already run into several old friends here - was a bit of snow on the ground when I arrived but none since and it was 50 degrees yesterday.

Dear April: I don't want any trouble from you.
January was long, February was iffy, March was a freaking dumpster fire.
So sit down, be quiet, and don't touch anything.

Old friends? So this is actually the town you grew up in? I had missed that. It should be fun to have people with history in common around again.

Glad you're likin' the change. Hope you can acclimate to the weather before any more arctic weather this year.

Yes, I grew up in this area. Moved south 30 years ago but I've visited consistently. I don't have much extended family left in the area but I'm very close to my ex's (sons' father) family and they've all been calling to make plans to get together.

Congratulations Kay! And welcome to cold country, lol!

I'm glad to hear everything is turning out so nicely for you. Also, I've meant to give you kudos for downsizing all of your stuff. If we get this new house, and I'm pretty sure we will, I'm going to have to do the same.

The kids aren't any help at all. I've asked each and every one of them if they wanted some stuff and each and every one of them said, yes, but I don't have any place to put it right now, can you just hold on to it until we get a bigger house?

No! No! No! They're missing the point.

I'm going to have to tell them if they really want it, put it in storage, or give it up and I'll just call a charity to come and pick it up, lol!

Wow from the gulf coast to Michigan.

Quite a dramatic change in Climate, Kay.

But if you grew up with it I am sure you will not have a problem in re- acclimating.

Oh like being an endOSUlfan is better?

I'd rather be a layer of dirt on the surface than be a toxic killer!

Well, that's where the Bucks left you this past Saturday...in the dirt. (still hate these smileys...still too lazy to import my own)

I have long been the ONLY person in Mississippi who has no interest in football. Now I will be one of 3 people in Ohio (I'm told) who don't like football.

My Grandson's sports are hockey, golf and baseball. I've been to two hockey games this week and there will be more to come. I enjoy hockey and baseball and though I don't golf, I drive a mean golf cart

As to location - I'm in Oxford, Ohio about 45 minutes north of Cincinnati.

Well of course you win football games. The U of M team is expected to be able to pass their tests, thus don't have the practice time other teams get.

Kay - everyone is forgetting the most important part about where you live now. You're within an easy driving distance to...............

I have no doubt Michigan players can pass their tests:

OSU Sign Rips Michigan FB Academics - Lost Lettermen

It's pretty easy when most of them major in General Studies.

But - I don't like roller coasters, Sal. I used to ride them to prove I could - then grew up and realized I didn't have to prove anything to anyone. Haven't been on one since.

I do like King's Island, though. I like things that go fast - just not up and down.

Never had a problem with roller coasters. Ferris wheels scare the holy crap out of me and the fun houses with their distortions of gravity make me extremely sick to my stomach.

Of course, there's more than roller coasters on both and it's just a shame to have them both in drivable distances. That is literally one of the 2 or 3 only things I miss about that area. LOL.
