Okay, I am thoroughly impressed! I came into the lounge this morning and there was annoying nonsensical link dropping spamvertising posts in some of threads as well as a new thread created with it.

I reported it and almost instantaneously it was gone! I mean we're talking a matter of seconds!

Awesome! Thank you Mr. Mod/Mods!

I just reported a cialis or whatever it's called spammer and it was also gone in seconds.

The spammer in question was really bright too and had found a really tricky place to hide it by posting it in Forum Guru's thread about fixing the search and it was posted right after a mod had come along to comment.

Brains come in all shapes and sizes nowadays.

Nice try, Richard. Like you don't know what it's called....

Nonsense, I had to copy and paste the word into the post. Look, watch me try and spell it without assistance - kaieloise. See?

Next you'll be saying I know what giavra is.

I think there must be a new link dropping spammers guide e-book out there or something because the exact same thing happened when I posted this thread. An idiot spammer came right along and posted right beneath it. I reported it right away and it also was gone very quickly.

Hello? Don't these spamidiots realize that when they post, the thread goes to the top and people go to read that new post?

Sadly I think that's exactly why they do it, they just haven't factored in the fact that the spam is so recognisable, impossible to read and generally an absolutely awful attempt that no one in the bar area falls for it.

Let's be honest too. On the off chance Dan was on the internet to buy some kialiesese or giavra tables, then would he really want to click on a link from someone called djhry4873tfb who has cleverly hidden the link in a paragraph of quite frankly highly amusing content?

        That's right, he probably would.

Seriously though, I would recommend reading them before you report them, genuinely funny stuff at times.

I did a couple of times but they were just all gobbledygook to me, lol!

Okay, I just read one before I reported it and think I found a little something that might help Riffle.

First of all, Terra, stop spamming the damn forum.

Second of all, this makes perfect sense in context.

Take Cialis (or whatever its called...) and what happens? All the blood flows away from your brain. Far away. Leaving you to write in ways that make sense only to the mentally unencumbered.

Give me Cialis, then show this to me. I'll bet it is brilliant.

You are asking the wrong person for Cialis, I don't have any but according to Richard's post, Riffle buys it on the internet and he might just share if you ask him nicely.

Sounds like they need to pay attention to the actual articles & realize that direct links don't work anyways. Also, if they don't at least take the time to build a website with an autoresponder they are probably never going to make any decent amount of money in internet marketing. It's kind of funny though that these 2 simple things can literally become a gold mine if you are willing to work hard at them & never give up until you make it happen

I once had a client named Alice with a great sense of humor.

When Cialis came on the market, she got in on the joke and hung a big framed magazine ad for it right on the wall of her office.

P.S. Hey Riffle... let's talk offline...

a forum mod has a thankless job -

I'm sure they get a lot more spam that we don't even see.

so the mods here have my appreciation also as well as my sympathy

I notice that spam OPs get removed almost immediately - when it's hidden inside a thread, I always report it. It's dealt with quickly. I don't always agree with the moderators on their decisions (never always did) - but they are definitely on their toes.
