Your Favorite Music of 2014?

Although for the most part the music I normally listen to is from the 60's, 70's and 80's, there has been some wonderful music that came out this year.

I've recently become a huge Coldplay fan - I don't know why now...
anyway, for some reason listening to Coldplay's music is helping me to feel better (I've been going through some personal challenges lately)

Coldplay released their album Ghost Stories this year and here are my 2 favorite songs from the record:

    I discovered a few new artists, well new to me anyway, this year as well.

    Personally, I thought 2013 was a better year of releases, but here a few of my faves that were released in 2014.

        Thanks! Yeah, no doubt. I love their version of "Thunderstruck" but that mashup of Iron Maiden's "The Trooper" and Rossini's "William Tell Overture" is crazy good as well...they even crush the guitar solos.

        I have tickets to see these guys play a small university campus theater with great acoustics in February and I can't wait. They are doing Bulgaria, Rome, Bologna, Milan, Slovenia, Perth, Sydney, Canberra, Brisbane, Auckland, London, Munich, Berlin, Hamburg and a few others and then they are heading to the States for a few months. After that they head to Germany for a bunch of shows... These guys have played in dozens and dozens of countries and it's a concert that I don't want to miss!

            No problem, I figured you might book in! Awesome! I know they have a new album dropping soon and I am looking forward to it for sure. I should have visited Perth when I was over there, but I ended up spending a bit more than a week in Bunbury over Christmas and New Year. I met such cool people and that small city had such a nice, festive, party atmosphere I never felt the need to leave the area. That was a long, long time ago and I hope to visit again one day.

    Ok, I forgot about this one too. My daughter has been a fan for years, not normally my type but I always feel like I just finished a weird Al video after watching this. The tune is catchy and fun and the video itself makes me laugh.

    The first time I heard them I pegged them as one of the best new bands in the past 20 years. Extremely talented musicians, great hooks and a throbbing beat.

    'Waterfall' is one of their best cuts. Last night they were featured on the I(Heart)Radio TV special. They really rocked the joint.

      I'm sure I feel precisely the same way about bands that you think have never recorded a bad song.
