Wow, that was something I had never considered before, but find very intriguing. I'm glad they're at least getting a little recognition there, anyway.

    I knew 4 out of 5 .
I am guessing there are a handful here that are like me.
For fear of leaving someone out due to old timers disease I won't name any.

Yeah, I like some songs that were written by people a LOT older than they are, and some were in foreign countries. Nice try though.

And plays and series don't count, as some have styles or collections that producers would rather use. Still, I remember one musician that worked with a lot of the series music I heard. He was REAL popular in the 1970s as I recall. He didn't even get honorable mention. HECK, one popular song I liked, was actually written by a guy named Nelson Rogers, AKA PRINCE!

Now THAT was a SHOCKER! It sounds like a female wrote it, and it doesn't sound like prince AT ALL! And what of the beatles?

I'm going to add one person to that list who is a glaringly terrible omission.

Listen to just about any pop or rock song that's come out since the mid 60s featuring that "classic" synth sound and the man who essentially made it all possible was Bog Moog, creator of the Moog synthesizer. Since that time, there have been more knockoffs and sound -alikes than Carter has liver pills. To this day, Moog synths are being used on dance, electronic and just about any other kind of music featuring synths. If not Moogs then a synth by some corporate band wagon jumper that owes its existence to this man.

Bob Moog passed away in 2005 at the age of 71 and it was a terrible loss to the music world. So much of what we hear today would not have existed without this man.

And YEAH, synths, of all sorts, have GREATLY increased copycats, etc... Would debby gibson have ever gotten where SHE did without one?
