What's the main forum coming to?

I've been keeping a low profile this year due to the death of my niece and my dad's debilitating heart attack and several other events but I always visit the OT forum and even do some drive by postings. What can I say, for some strange reason I like you folks and you keep my spirits up.

I typically stay out of the main forum due to the negativity there. So for some strange reason today I decided to drive by the main forum and see if I could offer some help. But instead I find this post by Wille Crawford

http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...-warriors.html

While there are some good responses, there are several disrespectful/negative postsagainst Willie.

Just flabbergasting

I can't tell if they're being trolls on purpose or not. Jessh I'm just gonna stay down here with the good folks and let the others feed on themselves.

No wonder more experienced marketers are not more active on the forum....

    Jack,
I think it is a combo of reasons.

    1. Some of these Warrior Members are newbies and very ignorant to what or who Willie is. Just plain uneducated about IM and who some of the trailblazers are.

    2. While some are just arrogant, disrespectful ,cynical little b@stards. It's just as simple as that

I'm sorry, for what happened to your niece and I hope your father gets well soon.

As for the rest of the post I agree 100% and I also agree with Discrat..
Ignorance can be a barrier with many things in life, and unfortunately many people are that way.

I too am sorry for what you are going through. My dad had two bypasses in one year so I can empathize.

WIllie's thread is starting off sad. Kindsvater is right on about the erroneous assumptions made.

Yes, it seems that newbies, realizing how hard it is to make money online, and being scammed a few times, are venting for the sake of it!

Their angle is he is a high pressure salesman selling $1000 dollar ebook, then he is selling anything he can get his hands on to make a buck?

Not necessarily true, l have paid $50 for some ebooks, and it was definitely worth it!

$1000 possible, but it would have to be iron clad!

Frank Kerns stuff sold for $2500, and a lot of it was rehashed "see spot run stuff" so not sure!

Hope things go well for you Jack!

I've actually paid over 8K for a report before - from a consulting firm (Think Gartner/Yankee Group etc)- that was for research on a very large IT project I was heading up.

Hope things go well for you Jack!
        Thanks!.

          Thank!.
I once did a report for free for a company I worked for that said about the same things as the consultant's report that they paid him $15,000 for. grrrr.

I've actually applied for positions at companies that wanted me to write free reports for them to "prove" I was qualified for the positions. If offered a free copy of something I've already produced and sell, it wasn't good enough - had to be the subjects they listed. I simply pointed out that I wasn't stupid enough to produce reports for them that actually answered the questions they wanted to "hire" me for answering. I swear some people are just built of nothing but fortitude in place of firing neurons.

So sorry to hear of your difficulties, Jack. Strength and peace to you and yours.

What's the main forum coming to?
We really haven't much of a clue right now. You will find that most of us are in post count freeze for a reason though. rarely do any of us venture upstairs anymore. Very little objective thinking and a lot of very obnoxious voice. They must be duking it out to get attention to help them grab those 5 dollar article gigs.

Anyway - while sorry that you have been in bad circumstance - it's always wonderful to see you again.

Good to see you Jack and sorry for the trials you're going through. That crap is just typical of what this forum has become and why Off Topic is "the" forum to read now rather than the Main or subforums. Trolls, spammers, and a bunch of ignorant newbies who'll never make a dime here or anywhere online.

      Oh, Jack!

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. My heart goes out to you as I know exactly how that feels as I lost my grama very recently. And then to have your dad go through that as well, oh my!

But on a positive note, it truly is good to see you back! You know you are always among friends here in the lounge.

    This.

A significant number of the forum's few remaining longstanding, respected members have been explaining, loud and clear, to the forum's managers, why more experienced marketers aren't more active on the forum. They appear to listen. And we're continually asked to "be patient". Some of us are worse at that than others.

If you want an update on what's going on/been going on in the Warrior Forum, these two threads - both of which contain some very recent responses from the management - will fairly quickly fill you in ...

Lots of posts now from people who have NOT beenthere/donethat - but feel free to tell others how to do things. They have no idea who is and is not a successful marketer on this forum - but feel free to diss anyone and everyone.

To be fair - I've also noted a few members who haven't been around much for quite some time who are perhaps spreading their nets to catch some lemmings.

When someone like Willie tries to post something helpful - I don't think there are enough new members serious about working online to profit from it. That's sad.

It certainly is surprising how some of these guys will come to this forum everyday just to spew their hate. I most definitely wouldn't be coming to a place that represented something I deeply hated.

It's too bad, because hate can be a good thing if you can channel it and make into something productive. By that time, the hate would have subsided making you happier and a better person for the experience.

About 4 years ago, I was going through a divorce among some other unpleasant things. Life wasn't so good at that time but I took all of those feelings of hate, sadness, etc... and put that into becoming more healthy with juicing, weight training and yoga. That literally changed my life and made me much, much happier than ever before.

Indeed, and they are trying to use the old "I'm not like those bunch of scammers so purchase my stuff" marketing cliche.

Anytime someone has "Honesty", in their branding, I tend to believe otherwise.

        No creativity at all.

Frankly, I would prefer an ebook to a physical book, since it has effectively no mass and can be quickly processed. I ALSO would prefer 1 page to a billion, for the same reason. My place would certainly be cleaner! I am hoping I can buy two more bookcases soon.

Let's take musclebuilding as an example. Just the magazine market costs a FORTUNE, and is huge by ANY measure! TONS of books on the subject. TONS of EBOOKS on the subject! I once bought a book smaller than any issue of those magazines, and probably about as inexpensive. ***I*** could have reduced it to two paragraphs, and would have paid 20 times as much. It put the other stuff to shame. If only I trusted my back, and circulatory system, as well as the floor, I would be using it.

Of course, some of the JUNK I have seen put out makes me want to charge the seller for my time. So the mass, size, and subject have NOTHING to do with value. It is the usability of the content that is king.

Yes, if someone offered me this book as an ebook, for $10,000 l would gladly accept it, (well if it was undated, for 2000-2050 l would)!

And l would ask to pay in installments!

I need enough time to bet on a horserace!

Our thoughts and prayers are with you Jack:
Good to see you back. But I'd like to encourage everyone whose "avoided" the main forum to come back. Otherwise it's almost like a self-fulfilling prophecy of sorts. If the experienced, knowledgeable marketers avoid it, whose left? Newbies, followers, complainers, blind-leading blind, cranky people with same-oh same-oh opinions and people who ask basic questions a simple Google search could have answered.

Instead of allowing those people to chase you out, it would be nice if it was the opposite for a change. It would also be nice to get some new questions from people other than ...what's a niche? what would you do different? or is article marketing dead?

But most important, there maybe one or two people who can sincerely use your knowledge experience or just a few words to get them through (or over) something.

Honestly, there's no point to it unless you enjoy wasting time. The Millionaire thread that Willie posted was a disgusting example of the quality of the membership posting there. So, because of them, one of the long standing most respected members of this forum has his thread bashed and then closed. No thanks. Who needs it?

Yes, there are also some who because they have basically given up, and accepted their lot in life, will blast someone for the sake of it!

$1000 dollar ebook, (since it is electronic, or only 50 pages, regardless of the info, it has to be a scam)?

Not necessary true, but it would have to have a very high success rate for me to consider it!
