A woman named Candice Curry wrote a letter to her ex-husband's new wife Ashley Parish, and the reception of the letter has been off the charts.

I realized by the look on your face that meeting me was just as hard as it was for me to meet you. My heart immediately softened. Dang your kind smile! I was planing on really hating you. Why are your ruining my plan?!
You've respected my position as mom from the very start.

I know our situation is rare. It's not often that a mom and stepmom text each other to remind each other that they love and respect each other. You are a gift.

It's such a rare letter and such a rare occurrence that a divorced parent can rise above the bitterness and do what is actually best for the children rather than constantly seeking revenge.

    Great letter. Good for her.

Honestly, I am thinking she was so over her ex husband. One year I attended a co-worker's stepchild's graduation party where the ex-wive/mother was also invited. Big mistake and a rather large gathering cleared out in minutes. Pretty sad to ruin the kid's celebration.

If I were ever in such a circumstance, I would hope the people would be just that way. I don't think my mother ever had any hatred towards my stepmother, but my stepmother was long after I was an adult, and rarely in my life. My mother said several times that she divorced my father because he paid too much attention to yet ANOTHER woman. But they were just friends, and never spoke of anything further and she has long been just a memory.

I've always felt fortunate after the split of my marriage that I never had kids, so I never had to deal with the man I had decided I didn't want to deal with anymore. I don't have one clue, or care, whatever happened to my ex. I can't imagine having had to keep ties with him after I left him, or having to allow him time with a child....anyone's.

These women are both well grounded and that child has one heck of a blessing!
