Good news stories of the year

In a year that has been filled with the usual horror stories (death, destruction, etc., etc..), why don't we share some good news stories that happened this year with everyone.

Here's a contribution from my home town:

People power has been used to free a man who became trapped between the platform and a train at a Perth station on Wednesday morning.

Scores of passengers, together with staff at Stirling station, managed to tilt the carriage so the man could free his leg which was wedged in the gap.

    IT always amazes me that the way we bicker over little stuff (and big stuff), name call, and arrogantly go through life shutting out anyone who isn't enough like we are, that when push comes to shove everyone will come together to save each other.

    Good video. Makes one realize that we can do the impossible when we set our minds to it collectively.

      True, l let a few people through a queue today, since they were ahead of me on the wrong side!

      And had some jerk cut me off and take my parking space, which l had been waiting 10 minutes for!

      It was a mother with a kid and Santa hat, she did wave, (after a long beep on my side) but yeah, not happy Jan!
