Guy gives $100 to homeless man and then follows him to see how he spends it

I must say, I have for many years been reluctant to give money to homeless people because I felt, like many others, that they likely will just spend it on drugs and/or alcohol and I felt it was better to give the money to shelters or other charities that try to help the homeless. This video shows that isn't always the case and also shows that homeless people can become that way for a variety of reasons.

The video has 22 million views so far in just 4 days and the guy who made the video set up a crowdfunding page to raise money to help the homeless man get off the streets. Donations thus far have topped $50,000.

    I loved this story.

    Though I know what you mean about the giving - I've always thought gifts should not have strings nor expectations attached to them.

    If I give a homeless person $20...it makes ME feel good. If they use it for food - great. If they use it for booze or drugs because that's what their priority is...that's their choice to make.

    Thanks for sharing this video Tim. I've seen too many videos similar to this one, but where the "homeless" person later drives away in a nice car to a nice home. You get jaded by constantly seeing people taking advantage of the system and others. It's nice to know that there are still people out there not taking advantage of - or taking for granted the things given to them.


    And good on this kid for still believing in the human condition and being generous.
