WOW! It would be nice if they just told the volunteers..... HEY, *****YOU***** volunteered! WE DIDN'T! Do your country a favor, and go to a PREPARED provider to be ISOLATED a few weeks!

Only medical workers really at any risk at all, I think (apart from in those African countries with the outbreak, I mean, of course).

Ebola doesn't behave differently when it knows it's in Africa or something. If you want to know why it spreads more rapidly in African countries, Stefan Molyneux explains it well.

I haven't even finished watching CAMs video, but I get the gist. Let's put this whole argument to REST, shall we? In "DAWN of planet of the apes", a pilot ends up catching a cold. I wish I remembered how, but whatever! The cold is found to be a DEADLY thing that kills humans, and makes other primates super intelligent. The movie ends with a contagion map showing how each stop spreads the cold all that much farther.

OK, OK! YOU GOT ME! It was but a movie! The cold was like the common cold. OK, OK. But let's say the pilot were only a STEWARD! Let's say you COULDN'T tell if he was sick. Let's say that there was NO blood present. Let's say that people said you couldn't catch THAT cold by regular contact! What do you think might happen? OK, OK! Some start, at this point to claim I am building a straw man. Let's go CRAZY! Let's say his name was.....I dunno..... Let's make it a bit foreign..... Let's say his name was "Gaëtan Dugas":! Let's go REALLY out there and say this happened about 34 years ago!

Guess what guys! *******IT DID*******! I just told you the accepted story behind the AIDs outbreak! YEAH, I know, you might say "BUT IT REQUIRES BLOOD". OK. I never believed that, and some young kids got it supposedly by magic, but OK. If they could get AIDS, WHY NOT EBOLA?

Did you read the article?

She will be flown from Glasgow and taken to the Royal Free Hospital in north London "as soon as we possibly can," Mr Hunt said.

The IRONIC thing is that if it were properly planned, she could have gone straight into isolation with only a few people maybe somewhat exposed to her. THIS way, she will have DOZENS or more, in at least 2 countries exposed to her.

And maybe people are right about the limited chance of contagion, but that means *****NOTHING*****! I mean people have slipped and been contaminated through hazmat suits! With AIDS, one person had some nasty luck and was squirted in the eye with blood in a freak accident, and got aids.

One of my relatives was a medic on the plane that took the patient from Glasgow to London. If it helps to assuage any fears, I can say with certainty that the people in the thick of things aren't screaming nearly as loudly or hysterically as the people who have news to sell.

We've had several cases here in the US - what we don't have is a raging epidemic. There are also countries in Africa that had a flair and were able to contain and even stop it. Whatever is going on in Sierra Leon is not usual. If everyone else can contain it, I don't see why they shouldn't also be able to as well. I wouldn't worry about ebola in the US unless it started an uncontrolled spread, and agree that the news should be chastised for the way they covered this story. Seems to me like a pay off to scare people into wanting untested drugs to me. When the word MONSANTO comes into play behind the drug manufacturers, I can't call it anything but a money making ploy.

I just don't like undue risks being taken. Yeah, it should NEVER be as bad here as it is in Africa. There ARE measures that could be taken to reduce the likelihood of death(Though GOOD LUCK getting that fast enough in the US). If you get past a certain point, apparently the chances of a complete recovery are pretty good.

STILL, they shouldn't take such chances. It is like when I was younger and a splinter or whatever might be removed with a needle heated red hot. Would you likely not get infected from that needle, before it was heated, and likely not get tetanus? SURE! STILL, they took precautions. HECK, when I get a blood draw, they act like the blood could possibly squirt and make a mess. Is that likely? NO! I don't know if it has EVER happened with me. But it COULD. And I HAVE seen fast bleeding from a small pin prick.

While I am at it. When I was in the ER, could I have possibly died from their inept handling and slow response? WELL, John Ritter had the EXACT same thing happen and they made a bad thing worse, and he died! Could their inept handling cause MRSA or pneumonia? SURE! It happens ALL THE TIME!

So yeah, I am not crazy about them being so laissez faire with infected people.
